Ryoss understands that true success is measured not only by economic outcomes, but also by our environmental stewardship and sustainable practices. We are committed to integrating sustainability into every aspect of our operations, from how we run our offices and data centres, to how we procure goods and services. Sustainability is deeply embedded in our culture, reflecting our commitment to treating the environment with respect and supporting the communities we serve.
Our Sustainability Policy outlines how we minimise our environmental footprint and ensure that our growth is achieved in harmony with our planet’s well-being.
Environmental Responsibility: We continuously seek to reduce waste, conserve resources, and lessen our carbon footprint in our day-to-day operations.
This includes initiatives to minimise paper usage through digital solutions, improve energy efficiency in our offices (such as using energy-saving equipment and mindful air conditioning usage), and implement recycling and waste reduction programs wherever possible. We encourage green practices among our employees, for example by promoting public transport, ride-sharing or remote work options to cut down on commuting emissions.
Business travel is conducted only when necessary, favouring virtual meetings to reduce carbon impact. We recognise that even service companies have an environmental impact, and we take proactive steps to mitigate it. By eliminating inefficiency and waste in our operations, we not only become more cost-effective but also significantly reduce our impact on the environment.
As we move forward, we are committed to continually elevating our sustainability ambitions, increasing transparency about our environmental performance, and doing our part to help create a sustainable future for all.
Sustainable Procurement: A key part of our sustainability commitment is ensuring that our procurement and supply chain practices uphold high environmental and ethical standards. Ryoss endorses the highest standards of economic, social, ethical, and environmental practices in sourcing.
When selecting vendors, partners, or suppliers, from office supplies and IT hardware to outsourced service providers, we consider not just cost and quality, but also how those partners perform in terms of sustainability and social responsibility. Our Sustainable Procurement Policy requires that we:
Comply with all relevant environmental laws and regulations in the countries where we operate and from which we source.
We only work with suppliers who meet their local environmental obligations (e.g. proper waste management, emissions control) and ideally go beyond compliance to proactively reduce their environmental impact.
Favour Environmentally Friendly Options: We give preference to products and services that are environmentally friendly, for instance, energy-efficient equipment, recycled or biodegradable materials, and vendors who use green energy or have carbon-reduction programs. We encourage suppliers to undertake initiatives that promote greater environmental responsibility, such as responsible waste management, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and conservation of natural resources.
Uphold Labour and Human Rights Standards: We expect our suppliers to adhere to rigorous labour standards and human rights principles, in line with the International Labour Organisation conventions, the UN Global Compact, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Suppliers must prohibit any form of forced or child labour and ensure safe and inclusive workplaces free from discrimination or harassment. This mirrors the standards we hold for ourselves and reinforces our Modern Slavery Policy throughout our supply chain.
Promote Ethical Business Practices: All vendors must conduct business with integrity. We seek out partners who operate transparently and ethically, this includes having measures in place to prevent bribery, corruption, fraud, and other unethical practices. By choosing reputable partners, we protect our own integrity and contribute to higher standards in the markets where we operate.
Community and Local Sourcing: Whenever feasible, we aim to source goods and services in ways that support local economies and communities. We consider how our procurement decisions can create positive social impact, for example, partnering with local businesses in Southeast Asia or Australia, or suppliers that actively invest in their own workforce’s well-being.
We are inspired by global best practices that encourage companies to provide employees (and by extension, contract workers) with a living wage and to partner with local communities to improve educational, cultural, and economic well-being. In our procurement, this means we value suppliers who treat their employees well and contribute to their communities. By supporting such suppliers, we amplify our collective social impact.
Through these sustainable procurement practices, we communicate our expectations to all stakeholders and work closely with our suppliers to raise awareness and standards. Ryoss understands that improving sustainability is a continuous journey, and we recognize the contribution of our suppliers in helping us become more sustainable.
We regularly review our vendor list and procurement criteria to ensure alignment with our sustainability goals. When needed, we are prepared to assist key suppliers in improving their practices or to discontinue relationships if a supplier fails to meet our environmental or ethical requirements. In summary, Ryoss’s Sustainability and Sustainable Procurement Policy ensures that we conduct our business in a way that minimizes environmental impact while maximising social good.
