Are you looking to add a secure, long-term offshore team member who feels like a part of your business and not just an offshore contractor doing work from abroad? Employer of Record (EoR) services are for companies who want to integrate offshore staff directly into their team without needing to establish a legal entity overseas.
EoR is suitable whether you are hiring one key person or building out a full team. We make the entire process simple, transparent, compliant, and low risk.

What is an Employer of Record
An Employer of Record (EoR) is a local legal entity that hires employees on your behalf in a specified country. As the client you retain full control over the person's day to day work and how they integrate and participate in your company, but Ryoss becomes the official employer responsible for labor compliance, payroll, benefits, taxes and HR in the worker’s country.
This lets you legally hire and fully integrate overseas talent into your team without the hassle of dealing with setting up a company offshore, not properly complying with local labor laws or the administration burden of a separate foreign employment system.
Ryoss can offer this EoR service through its on the ground team of legal, finance, HR and operational experts.
Why Ryoss EoR

Outsourcing Flexibility
We don’t lock you into one model. Many clients start with EoR then transition to their own entity. Or they start with remote contractors across Ryoss and other outsourcing companies and consolidate them into Ryoss EoR.
We also work with clients who have flexible workforce model with us with employees engaged under EoR and also a number of remote contractors. For some of these clients we are also supporting them with the establishment of an International Business Office (IBO).
When to use EoR
- You want to hire quickly without local incorporation
- You want someone to be a true team member and not just an outsourced contractor
- You want to retain staff long term and give them proper benefits and security
- You want local compliance without the complexity and administrative burden
- You want to avoid the legal and tax risks of using freelancers or misclassified contractors
CASE STUDY
Embedding an offshore financial analyst via EoR
Client: A mid-sized Australian SaaS company providing financial reporting software to SMEs, with a head office in Perth and a distributed product team across Australia and New Zealand.
Challenge
The CFO needed a full-time financial analyst to support investor reporting, forecasting, and internal performance dashboards. They required someone technically capable, detail oriented, and able to work closely with the local finance team across multiple time zones.
After months of trying to fill the role locally, they struggled to find candidates within budget who had both the analytical skills and the willingness to take on routine but high-responsibility finance work. Contractor marketplaces felt too transactional and risky for the type of access required, and they weren’t ready to set up a legal entity just to hire one person offshore.
They needed a solution that gave them full control over the hire and tight integration with the local team without the compliance burden of direct employment in another country.
Solutions
Ryoss onboarded a qualified Filippino CPA as a full time financial analyst under our Employer of Record (EoR) arrangement. The client handpicked the candidate from a shortlist provided by our recruitment team. The analyst was then onboarding onto the client’s internal systems, Google Workspace, Slack channels, and regular workflows from day one.
The Ryoss team handled:
- Local employment contracts and DOLE (Filippino Labor Agency) compliance onboarding
- Monthly payroll, tax, and statutory contributions
- HR support and issue resolutions
- Coordination with the clients’s Perth finance lead
Results & Ongoing Engagement
- Reduced cost of hire by 62% compared to local equivalents
- Improved reporting turnaround from 5 days to 2
- Gave CFO real time visibility with weekly check ins and structured reportin
- Created continuity in a role that had suffered from short term turnover locally
Eighteen months on the financial analyst is fully embedded in the team and referred to internally as a "finance team member" rather than an external staffer. The company has since added a second hire through Ryoss under the EoR model to support budgeting and forecasting, with plans to scale further.

Frequently Asked Questions
Understanding How Ryoss Group Can Drive Your Success
What is an Employer of Record (EoR)?
An Employer of Record (EoR) is a local legal entity that hires offshore employees on your behalf. You manage their work directly, while Ryoss handles payroll, compliance, taxes, and HR in their country of residence.
Why would I use an EoR instead of a contractor?
EoR gives you full legal employment without setting up a company overseas. It’s ideal when you want long-term, stable team members with proper benefits and compliance, rather than short-term contractors under service agreements.
Do I need to set up a company overseas to use EoR?
No. That’s the whole point of EoR. Ryoss becomes the legal employer in the worker’s country, so you can hire without incorporating or navigating complex local regulations yourself.
Who manages the employee’s daily tasks and performance?
You do. You manage the person like any other team member. Ryoss handles the compliance, payroll, and HR support behind the scenes, but you retain full control over their output and day-to-day work.
Can I bring my own candidate into an EoR setup?
Yes. You can nominate a candidate you’ve already identified, or have Ryoss recruit for the role. We’re flexible depending on your hiring preferences.
How quickly can we onboard someone under EoR?
If you have a candidate ready, onboarding can begin immediately. We draft and execute the employment contract, handle all compliance registrations, and begin payroll setup with minimal delay.
What countries does Ryoss offer EoR services in?
We primarily operate across Southeast Asia, especially in the Philippines where we have strong on-the-ground capabilities. Other countries may be available depending on your needs.
What support does Ryoss provide once the employee is onboard?
We manage payroll, taxes, leave, insurances, and local compliance. We also provide HR support and regular check-ins to ensure both you and the employee are supported throughout the engagement.
Can we migrate from EoR to our own local entity later?
Yes. Many clients start with EoR and later transition to their own offshore entity. Ryoss supports migration paths and can help with the handover and setup process when the time is right.
Is there a minimum number of hires for EoR?
No. EoR is ideal whether you’re hiring one key person or building a larger team. We scale with your needs and can support individual placements or full department builds.
