Software Developer - Full Stack

Skilled Laravel Developer role focused on building and maintaining secure, scalable client web applications, covering backend Laravel and PHP work, databases, APIs and integrations, and collaboration with a remote team, with Vue.js, CI/CD, and DNS as nice-to-haves.

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Laravel Developer to join our development team. In this role, you will work on web-based systems and applications for a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions.

As a Laravel Developer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining back-end functionality using Laravel and PHP. You will collaborate closely with full stack & front end developers, project managers, designers, and QA to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain web applications using Laravel (PHP).
  • Design and manage relational databases, write optimised queries, and handle data migrations.
  • Build and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
  • Support front-end frameworks & libraries (Vue.js) for interactive user interfaces.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following coding standards and best practices.
  • Participate in peer code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack and support bug fixes and performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement user-friendly and accessible designs.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and support deployment processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in backend development using Laravel and PHP.
  • Comprehensive understanding of front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks such as Vue.js (preferred), React, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of MVC architecture, REST APIs, and web security practices.
  • Experience working with MySQL or PostgreSQL and version control tools such as Git.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and as part of a remote or hybrid team.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in a MSP, or client-facing development environment is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, testing tools, and deployment processes.
  • Working experience with Git and Git Workflows
  • Fundamental understand of DNS
